Lessons from Two Months on Substack and Our Upcoming Event
Key insights from my journey, the challenges I've navigated, and how I'm finding my voice. Plus, details on our first event, a dive into the nature of consciousness.
I hit "publish" on my first post back on February 23rd, and wow, what a ride it’s been! I am thankful for all the love and support you've shown, it has made all the difference for me. I’ve learned so much in these two months, and I’m excited to share where we’re headed next.
Take a moment to save the date—next Monday, May 6th, 2024, at 1pm ET, I’m hosting a Zoom hangout. It’s going to be a group discussion, and I’d love for you to join us!
The Comfort Zone Will Kill You
One of the biggest challenges for me here has been stepping out of my comfort zone. Some of you probably remember me from my days in the tech startup scene, deep in roles related to general management, marketing, and business development. That was my world, my comfort zone, what I had been raised and educated and conditioned to do. But now, here I am, diving into entirely new realms: self-development, healing, awakening, conscious leadership, and regeneration. It’s been quite the adventure reintroducing myself with these themes — and it’s been scary to step out of my comfort zone of conventional and corporate-related topics.
Take, for instance, my series "Hero's Journey from Trauma to Freedom." We've tackled the first four parts, focusing on healing, growth, and becoming our most authentic selves. It’s at times heavy stuff, but I’m finding creative ways to keep it relatable and down-to-earth. This project is incredibly personal for me—it’s like I’m living the hero's journey all over again just by writing about it, especially with some big life changes happening behind the scenes.
And then there's the "City of the Mind" series—now that was a challenge and a half! It explores the concept of nonduality and idealism, the idea that the reality we experience is actually a projection of consciousness. In the series, we uncover Existential Meta-Psychology, describing how these worldviews can foster personal growth. Intrigued? We’ll dive deeper into this at our Zoom meetup, so I hope you’ll tune in!
I’m so grateful for how you’ve embraced my writing.
Readership here has grown beautifully, and I was thrilled to welcome the first handful of paid supporters. The pledges of support were a surprise to me, as I hadn’t expected to monetize this endeavor, and they pointed to an underexplored fountain of creative expression within me. Thank you for “seeing” me — your trust and support are fueling this transition to a more purpose-driven chapter of my life.
What I’ve really come to appreciate about Substack itself is the quality of engagement. It’s just on another level compared to other platforms—richer, more thoughtful, truly respectful. A big shoutout to
and Jeremy de la Rosa from Poets' Corner—your encouragement and guidance have been a lifeline.Finding My Voice
As I continue on this journey, one of the most thrilling aspects has been finding my voice. It's like rekindling an old love affair with writing. Sometimes, the words just flow effortlessly, almost as if they're rushing to escape. It feels as though my higher self had been patiently waiting for me to finally pick up the pen and convey some of what I’ve learned on this journey on this beautiful blue and green planet.
Rick Rubin, the legendary music producer, once said that an artist must first create for themselves. That advice has resonated deeply with me as I navigate through my thoughts and themes, publishing when it feels uncomfortable and uncertain to do so. And then, it’s as if each word I write not only reaches out to you but also helps me connect with my innermost self.
However, balancing this personal expression with content that is meaningful and useful to you, my readers, is something I am keenly aware of. I want my writing not only to reflect my journey but also to enrich yours, to serve you in ways that are thoughtful and beneficial.
This process of finding my voice is more than just about writing; it’s about growth. It’s an alchemical transformation, where the act of writing transforms who I am, molding and reshaping me. Each article and every series isn’t just content; it’s a piece of my evolving self, offered up in the hopes that it might touch and inspire you.
As I continue to develop this voice, I warmly invite your feedback and suggestions. What resonates with you? What would you like more of? This isn’t just my space; it’s ours because of the interpersonal nature of the topics, and your input is invaluable as we navigate this path together.
Is Consciousness Fundamental?
I’m super excited to invite you to a special Zoom event that we’ve got lined up for May 6th, 2024, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
What’s it all about?
Ever wondered if our minds emerge from matter, as “materialists” claim, or is there something more profound at play? Is consciousness actually the bedrock of everything in the universe? Join us as we delve into these questions in a collaborative group discussion that’s sure to stir your brain and maybe even help you reconsider the way you think about reality itself.
Here’s what we’ll explore:
• Materialism vs. Idealism: We’ll break down these two contrasting philosophies. Are we just atoms in motion, or is there a consciousness underlying all that we see and experience?
• A look at alternative perspectives that offer even more food for thought when it comes to understanding consciousness.
• Implications and Insights: What does all this mean for us and our understanding of the world?
This 90-minute virtual journey is perfect for anyone curious about the nature of reality. I recommend arriving within the first five minutes to catch the full introductory presentation—it’ll set the stage for everything to come. While the official duration is 90 minutes, aim to stay for at least the first 60 minutes. Expect a lively discussion during an open forum where you can share your thoughts and engage with other participants in real-time.

As we continue to journey together here, I can't stress enough how vital your support is. Every subscription, every share, it all adds up to more than just numbers—it’s about building a community driven by conscious leadership and meaningful change.
Why your support matters:
My passion is to blend the timeless wisdom of ancient traditions with the dynamism of modern personal development and conscious leadership. Having lived and worked across five continents, I bring a unique perspective that complements innovation with core values like authenticity, genuine connection, and sustainable growth. This isn’t just work for me—it’s a mission to transform how we think about leadership and engagement at work and in our personal lives.
Your support fuels this mission. It enables me to deliver more impactful communication, introduce vital self-awareness practices, and share insights from the incredibly diverse cultures I’ve encountered. Together, we can forge a better world—one where leadership is rooted in true values and where everyone feels they truly belong, away from the challenging norms that too often pervade our workplaces.
Here’s what one of you shared with me:
“I want to support you because you are committed to living a lifestyle that allows you to contribute to others. The most valuable lesson you have taught me is to live my life from love, not fear.”
It’s so heartwarming. This kind of feedback inspires me every day. It’s a reminder of the impact we can have together.
