This post helps me start to put words to some gut feelings I’ve had for a while. I’m eager to learn more about the listening society.
Metamodernity is a new concept to me (or a new word, anyway!) and makes me think of the book Hospicing Modernity, do you know it? I think you’d find it compelling. Lastly, I’m reading this post at the airport waiting for my flight to Costa Rica, so synchronicities abound.
Thank you, Elaine! I’m so glad this post resonated with you. Hospicing Modernity has been recommended to me, and it’s definitely on my list. I know it’s a deeply instructive and important work, especially in these times. And what a synchronicity that you’re reading this while heading to Costa Rica! Wishing you an incredible stay—pura vida!
Thanks for these beautiful and truly wise and inspiring thoughts. Maybe navigating these treacherous times properly will bring us to the kind, fair and healing future for which so many of us yearn.
Thank you, Diana. I feel that too. Maybe the real work isn’t about finding an easy way through, but learning how to navigate the uncertainty. Holding the tension of opposites—not retreating into old certainties, but not getting lost in the chaos either. If we can stay present, keep our integrity, and redefine our boundaries as we go, maybe that’s how something new emerges
Beautiful and inspiring ♥️

That makes a lot of sense, Alex.
